When does a startup become a business?

Many different definitions have been put forward and yet there is still no cohesive answer.
Apparently Uber (7 years old), Facebook (12 years old), and Google (18 years old) are still, at times, referred to as startups.
I would like to own one of those startups.

The dictionary states ‘a fledgling business enterprise‘.

Others seem to feel that the term startup is associated with a business that is typically technology oriented and has high growth potential.

Steve Blank, Silicon Valley serial entrepreneur wrote: “a startup is an organization formed to search for a repeatable and scalable business model.”

No matter what is said, the ultimate decision is up to you and your company, when do you believe that you have advanced from a startup to a going concern.
